About this event:
This book is about Paris and Los Angeles – the mixing and pairing of yesterday and today, the monumental and commonplace the Landmarks, Culture People coming together through Illustrations to tell the stories of these two iconic cities. The book offers a level of discovery and awareness to see the cities in ways they have never been seen before. The art has a timeless quality…every time you look at the art you see or feel something different and discover new and meaningful insights. The idea was to evoke passion and memories in the readers. Art liberates the soul, provokes the
imagination and celebrates humaneness!
A California native who lives in Pasadena and Paris, DIANE RATICAN earned a bachelor of arts degree in history and sociology from the University of California, Berkeley, as well as a master of arts degree in sociology and education from UCLA. Her career moved from educating gifted children to becoming a risk-taking entrepreneur in the children’s fashion industry. This background prepared her to engage in her latest endeavor, as an author, conjuror of images and artistic director. Her vision of art telling her very personal LA-Paris love story comes from her innate creativity and her talent as a collector and curator of art.
