About this event:
La Café Actu est un talk à la française. Après plusieurs numéros à Paris (Saint-Germain-des-Prés), le Café Actu prend ses quartiers à Los Angeles pour accueillir un pannel d’invités français et francophones. Ils sont expatriés, entrepreneurs, artistes ou experts dans leur domaine. Ils auront une heure pour échanger de manière spontannée sur l’actualité du moment. Le débat est en français et est ouvert à la participation du public.
Claudine Marshall, private chef, culinary arts
Born and raised in Paris, France, Claudine Marshall spent many years around the world (Holland, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Morocco, England…).After a stop in Boston in the 70’s, Claudine found herself back on the East Coast in New York. She opens “Le Radis Blanc” a small French bistro which quickly became the local cantina. She moved to the West Coast twelve years ago: from the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills to the giant kitchens of residential dining at California State University, Northridge, Claudine kept developing her culinary skills and sharing her passion for food, entertaining, and events.She now runs 2 French Chicks, a Private Chef and Catering Company and does it all: planning, shopping, cooking, and clean-up!
Michaël NAKACHE (movie business)
Michael Nakache is a film director, screenwriter, and producer. He was born and raised in Paris (France) and now lives in Los Angeles.His movie Convivium, starred Mélanie Thierry and Grégory Fitoussi (male lead of the internationally acclaimed series Spiral). He followed up with The Passenger and Transference, both critically acclaimed in the festival circuit, withTransference broadcasted by HBO.
Lorène & Marine (Music)
The French twin sisters Lorène & Marine came in Los Angeles 2 years ago to pursue their dreams to be singers songwriters. They studied Music Production and Music Business for 18 months at UCLA Extension, graduated in June 2018, and they are now working intensely on their music. Lou Correa (sports & entrepreneur)
Lou had played college basketball in the U.S. But a hip issue prevented him to continue this path. Unlucky? Wait for this: after winning the Green Card Lottery, he quickly focused on a new goal: perfecting the craft of French baking.He and his wife Karima arrive in L.A in June 2012 and immediately landed jobs at the Lila French School. There they got feedback on their pastries, with Lou tirelessly reformulating recipes to account for differences in American ingredients. Soon they were catering and attending farmers markets. Lou the French on the Block officially opened for business in June 2016.
